“ If everyone shouts, how will any one voice be heard (p.63)?” The main points to emphasis and alignment are: Emphasis is an expression of something that is very important. Visual hierarchy instructs the designer of specific items and other elements of the impact of dominant and supportive elements. Things are relative according to size, color and how it stands out. The size will impact the audience into gaining their attention. It is important to make quick decisions in interpreting or fixing your designs it will free the creative flow. Try to think more in 3-D rather than 2-D because it makes your design more visually exciting although, it shouldn’t be overdone. Color uses makes the elements stand out and value expresses itself through light and dark colors. Contrast can be used to make elements more intense thus emphasize. Alignment helps organize and structure your work. Try to balance your work in order for everything to be aligned. Mostly, follow the rules of alignment although you can once in while break them if you know the rules you are breaking. Try not to make your layout to stiff. When using the circle try to measure because circles may not give an accurate appearance to size. Follow the guidelines of text, shape, and image features for solutions to design. It is important to learn the fundamentals of a design grid. There is four main design grids to follow: 1) A simple, three-column format, 2) A four column-format with a one column “ header” for images or highlighted text, 3)  A three-column format with columns of unequal size, 4) A grid that divides space both horizontally and vertically. “ C.A.P.” (Connection, Alignment, Priority)- pages 118-121, 282-275 and 336-339.
